I've noticed a lot of that going around, now that I and all my friends are all in our 60s.
It does seem that things that used to sound fun have gotten so technical and gone so far beyond what we called limits a few years ago that they aren't fun any more. It seems the longer a sport is popular the more extreme measures people take to win - to the point where it's so ridiculous it isn't interesting. How long before a rallye's GPS coordinates are programmed into an on-board computer that tells the driver what to do and when? How long after that does the computer just control the car and the driver and navigator are just passengers?
