It seems to me that all of the latest generation of energy efficient dishwashers suck at drying. The high efficiency units don’t have heating elements like the old skool ones. Curious if the new Kitchenaid you bought is a “gross polluter” model with a proper heating element.
We have a Miele and it does a fine job washing, and it whisper quiet...doesn’t dry worth a damn. If we are still allowed to purchase them, the next dishwasher I buy will have a heating element...when I consider energy efficiency, I include my own effort in hand drying dishes as part of the total energy consumption. I’m happy to use additional electricity to avoid having to hand dry.
