Someone wrote it was a late prototype. Hopefully, the finish was a bit better on the production cars.
This makes me think about when I visited a former Porsche dealer here in Sweden. He had some great stories about when he picked up 959's from the factory and trailered them to Sweden with a 928 as a tow car. From what I remember, he sold three new 959's through his dealership, despite the fact they couldn't be made road legal in Sweden at the time. He still had one when I visited in 2015, never registered.
