Porschephiles was my first foray into this online world. Lots of good stories from those days. Back then it was so small that all Porsche owners were on one mailing list, so you had discussions on everything from 356s to 964s! 911s, 944s, 928s, 914s, everything on one list. Stan Hanks was a 914 guy, IIRC.
Stan would send out a "who's who" list every once in awhile and by my memory there were only about 250 people on the list when I joined - for the whole world. And, the list included some interesting folks. Bruce Anderson, Harry Pellow and Pete Albrecht come to mind. Pete and Harry didn't see eye to eye and their flame war (before that was a thing?) was epic. I ended up meeting and having dinner with Pete once in SoCal. Great guy.
