You don’t need that superfluous wrench. If you get the nut off, then the half pulley and shims fall right out.

Thanks Johan - perhaps I am missing something but I can't loose the nut without the pulley wheel being held still. I have tried holding by hand but the nut requires too much force to loosen. Is there a trick to this that I am not aware of - can you share how you do it?
