I'm somewhat perplexed by this whole thread.
Here's what I see:
We have clearly shown Porsche doesn't make or brand every part of every car, Sigla glass, Bosch lenses and electrical parts, various tires and battery manufacturers, seats and so much more.
So, O.P. states he has this cap that could be extremely valuable, even if just to be used on a flat-6 powered race car that is being displayed, or any flat 6 powered car with twin-plug, 911R, RSR, etc
And, the conversation keeps coming back to parts that aren't/weren't made by Porsche.
So, if I had a set of Bosch 904 tail light lenses, or a set of vintage Pirelli tires that belonged on one of our cars and was still usable, even just for static display, wouldn't these parts be more valuable than a modern part that would fit the car, but not be exactly correct.
So, we don't have a single answer to the question 'is this part old and correct, or a newer recreation of the MM distributor cap?'
