The rear quarter flap and latch parts are recycled '72 911 parts (no, seriously - look it up in PET). Take a look at an original '72 911 that has never been painted/restored, and you'll see that the gaps on the filler door are pretty bad, just like the one Byron shot of the prototype 959. When they get restored, they usually get some TLC to the gaps. When I was getting body & paint done on my '72, that was one awkward phone call from the shop. "Uhhh....so the gaps on this oil filler door are really bad...you want us to weld that up to fit better?"
