I take the Cayman to a frame straightening shop. They do 4 wheel alignments for around $200, and usually within a few hours max. They give me a printout before and after, showing the alignment in both tenths of a degree, or hundredths of an inch per wheel. So across each axle I'm accurate to within .01 inch or .0099 degrees. To me, that is way beyond what I can do, and frankly it removes any motivation that I may have to do it myself.

OTOH, I do my own tuneups, oil change, did the shifter cable and shifter modification, sport exhaust, added a GT-3 intake and IPD plenum, center radiator and front valance modification, GT3 suspension and brakes, and on and on.

914s are super easy and light, making the work far more straightforward and gratifying than later models.
