As if I had to tell you guys Mobil 1 is the best oil on earth! I have seen first hand the internals of high mileage engines which use this stuff. They are as clean as the day they were built with no sludgy build up that you get with natural oils, regardless of ritualistic oil changes. It can also be used to clean any older engine with this nasty buildup. And it can be mixed with, or used in place of your current oil. Of course, always use thiker oil on older engines, especially leaky ones.
If the oil is not fully synthetic, then it must be labled "semi-synthetic" or "synthetic blend" (or some equivalent). If the oil is labled simply "synthetic", then it's pure synthetic. I do agree about Mobil 1 though. At its price point there is nothing that comes close. AMSOil is very minutely better, but AMSOil is not anywhere near worth the price premium it demands. Also, I have issues with several of AMSOil's advertising claims, some of which I find blatantly deceptive.

If the engine needs thicker oil than is recommended, the engine needs to be rebuilt. Period. The only thing that thicker oil does is mask a SERIOUS problem, it does not fix anything.

Not only that, but these cars recommend 20W50 oil. Good luck finding something thicker.
