I agree with OP, it's ok to be sensitive to those smells.
I don't eat raw garlic, or raw onions, because they don't sit well with my system.
I too am disturbingly aware when my SO eats them.
I can't tell her what not to eat, but I do ask her not to sneak them into my food.
She eats TONS of garlic and onions when I'm not looking, and I agree that I am aware of it, and it is not pleasant.
But, to be completely fair with some of the others here, I seem to like the smell of garlic and onions cooking in butter. Go figure.
