I guess it is a hobby, it is fun, it's a challenge. I hope it stays fun for him. It will be a very expensive hobby.
It might not be important to everyone, but it makes 0 sense financially. Even an old 911 is a total loss by this point. It will be super easy to put 50K into that thing, to have it 'OK' (not superb)...and the car will maybe be worth 20K.
It would make sense to save a far gone 'S' longhood or so, but not on this one.
But hey, good luck to him, i hope he sortof knows what he's in for.
