On Vash's thread it says, "He pulled out a tape measure and pulled it out to 76 inches. He said the lifetime expectancy of a man in the US is 76. Pointed to the 50 Inch mark and said here is where we are. If there is something you want to do, better do it soon."

The house does need some things. The boat lift is rusted out and probably scrap, and the pilings need to be replaced. Most of the stuff is manly cosmetic or the wife just doesn’t like it. The tubs, cabinets, flooring, pool deck. Our current house is in excellent shape, the new one is showing its age.
I’m guessing we will put between 100k-150k in it, depending how much work I do myself and what we end up doing. There are houses priced much higher in the area.
They originally were asking $525k but the lady was a little hard to deal with and wouldn’t show it. They dropped the price to 499k recently. We offered her kids 440k and said we wouldnt expect them to do any repairs in a pre buy, we could already see most of what needed done. The pre buy is tommorow and unless there something wrong with the roof, we are buying it.
