I had one of those panasonics and it was OK, but not great. When it died I picked one of these no-name trimmer up at the drug store. I've had it for three years and it's great. It uses a single AA battery. It sticks and won't start when you first turn it on. I just tap it against the edge of the sink, it starts running sluggishly, get it wet and it takes off. I thought it was dying but it's been doing that for years. I need to put some clipper oil on it.
The blade is just a single row of cutters like a hedge trimmer. It's got a light so you can see what you're doing.
