Last weekend while waiting for my new fridge I bought 2 bags of ice from a local Sonic (drive thru burger joint) to keep the old fridge cool. It's kind of cruhed but is those 1/4 x 3/8 cylinders. When I got the new fridge had only used 1 of the bags to keep the dying fridge cool. Since getting new fridge have been using the Sonic ice in my drinks. Kinda like it!

Saved $100 by buying the new fridge without an ice maker. Never had an ice maker and have been filling trays and dumping cubes into a bin. So, cheaped out and didn't get an ice maker. Am comfortable with no ice maker and filling and freezing trays to make cubes.

One of the fridge installers commented that he saw the Sonic ice and said it was the best for cold drinks. That's pretty much all I use ice for, drinks. May have to just start buying ice at Sonic for my drinks.

In college met a girl that always got drinks at a Del Rancho because they had crushed ice. Then she would go to whatever other place she was hungry for. Sometimes wonder if she got a crushed icemaker for her home.
