OK, since this is now the offical "Ultimate Back Date Thread", I want to back date my heater. I have heard I'll need a 77 Turbo leftside hot air socket, but I've also heard that the regular early model sockets can be modified to get around the distributor. I would love to find a used one, but don't want to waste the money if it's not going to work properly. I looked up the Turbo part # on PET, came up with part # 930-106-321-01 & entered it on the Pelican Parts search & it comes up with PP #H-106-326-01 at $78.75. I gave Pelican a call I was told this was the part I needed.

The right side shouldn't be an issue, when I did a search for the Turbo rightside part # 911-106-327-01 on Pelican I came up with zip. When I entered the 1972 part # 911-106-327-00 I came up with the socket as a special order item at $55. This part is non refundable.

I just replaced all the hoses on my current heater & hope I can still use some of them. I'm going to have some SSI & a Dansk 2in/2out installed & thought it would be easiest to do the backdate at the same time. Has anyone else that has done this have any words of wisdom? Am I overlooking anything?.
