The original factory speedo only goes to 85 on a Delorian. They had to change it out for the movie to show 88. My 1986 El Camino came with a speedometer that stopped at 85 and had a GIANT orange 55. I found a 115 MPH unit, and had it rebuilt and there is no longer any reference to the horrible time in history of a nation wide 55 MPH speed limit.

And that DeLorean engine will only get to that RPM once.
