FWIW in the 911 & Porsche World article they modified the original wings/fenders by adding the extra piece at the wheel arch and the turnsignal housing. Don't think I would be able to do this because I would need early wings to use as a guide and as my SC is my only car, I couldn't have the wings off the car that long. Worth considering though if your circumstances are different.
