The serious answer is that there is no panic, anywhere. I doubt that people in suburban Seattle are panicking, where the outbreak is most severe in the USA. My sister lives in Northern Italy and is not panicked in the least, just concerned about getting home from a ski trip w the entire country on lock-down.
The notion that people are panicking is a narrative being put forward by certain people w a political agenda. The truth is more like a lot of American lemmings cleaning out Costco of hand sanitizer. Do people in the heartland not know how to shop anywhere else anymore? Is that plot a 100% success? I wouldn't know, I've never been in one of those big box stores full of Chinese merchandise.
