I mean the fear mongering... it is over the top.
I thought I was safe when I checked the weather - even the damn weather sites have CV stories (good news, it dies off faster in warm climate)
Anyway, I'm sick of the hysteria.
I suspect a lot of parents of grade-school kids must be pretty pissed that their daycare went away.
The hysterical reaction to supplies is getting old too.

If you think the hysteria at stores is bad, Imagine how it could be in hospitals next month. If the hospitals run out of beds, how are they going to treat other patients with life threatening conditions?
I'm not worried for myself, or my getting it, but I would feel terrible if someone I love were to die from my negligence.
FWIW, I am self quarantined now, for having flu like symptoms. Corona is in my town, and some people are making a point of trying to shake your hand. It may be impossible to quantify the effects of taking this virus seriously NOW, but it will be very easy to quantify the effects of the virus later if we don't make an effort to limit it.
The real problem isn't the people who we know have it, it is the people who are running around like healthy people who already have it. FWIW, I am not able to be tested for the virus because I was not in direct contact with anyone who recently came back from abroad who has it.
I think we are weeks behind where we should be in preparation for this disease, and people are foolishly trying to ignore what has already been happening in other countries. It isn't a joke when the people in hospitals doing triage have to start deciding who gets to live or die. That is already happening in Italy.
Like I said, I'm not worried about myself, but I am so not caring about your inconvenience. There is a good chance that someone you like will die of this disease. We do the right thing not because it is easy, but because it is right. Delayed gratification now often pays dividends in the future.
Often the hard way turns out to be easier in the end.
This virus could take 9 months to run its course. If everyone took it seriously, it wouldn't have to.
This isn't a media hype.
