to be fair.. Corona has a much bigger impact on the US population and economy.
9/11 was a big slap in the face
but people got angry and for the most part the US, other then NYC, went back to work the next day
This is more like a kick in the nads where you don't really have the ability to do much other then roll around holding yer nuts wishing for it to go away..
A lot of people cannot go back to work, and not even if they wanted too.
This will hurt a lot of small businesse and people with low income.
There isn't much support for those who run into financial problems because of this.
in Europe we have economic unemployment (minimum wage or % of former wage, depending) status for those people who can't work due to closed business. and the small businesses also get various support if they are forced to close down
Don't get me wrong it will still have an impact, but it's dampened a bit
If a restaurant is forced to close in the US, will a single mum waitress still have some kind of income in the US?
Probably not.. So that will hurt bad for those people..
with 9/11 there was shock, but no loss of income across the various states.
