I think as people get used to the risk/ danger/ fatalities/ consequences of COVID-19, and see people they know and read about others recovering, they'll choose to go on with life but in a sensible way.

By June or even earlier, we will have taken a measure on what long term life will be like with the virus. People will still be getting very sick and dying, but what other choice do you have other than go on living? It's like the line in "The Grapes of Wrath", something to the effect that you're not being brave if you don't have any other choice than to keep on going. Yeah, this is tragic. But you have to live until you die.
