The problem is the overwhelming surge of people who will need critical care. If you have 10m infected where you need 100,000 beds and you.only have 50000 beds...that means 50000 dont get care where a large percentage who could have been saved will die.
It is not so much how deadly it is it is how fast it can spread that makes it much more lethal.

Again, Seattle's East-side is ground zero of CV19 in the US. One particular nursing home. Again, the first responders to those early cases just got done with their quarantine.
None sick.
The VAST MAJORITY of those infected are minimally symptomatic. And that is considered a problem for spread. --just like it is EVERY flu & cold season.
