I am making my new computer work its CPU off. I have one mapping program running that generates the mosaic images churning, another mapping program that allows me to open the 18 Gig tiff file and poke around, make sure the ground points are in the right place, and crop and output the little pieces I have to crop out so that Photoshop will not cry about the file size being too big. And I have Photoshop running to edit the files, and doing some dodging and burning to compensate for some of the cloud shadows. The client calls us and pretty much said fly it now or forget it. So we flew it on an "not ideal" day. with cloud shadows random areas are darker.
So far it has not been above 130 Gig of RAM used, and the CPU is at 30% to 40% utilization. And I still have time to goof off and play online at the same time. So less than 50% CPU, about 50% of ram at the most, and only one of the two video cards is doing much more than 20%.
Soon I have to open the edit pieces back into the second mapping program, and output one mosaic all pretty and edited for the client. Sometime I open two copies of one of the programs. Go little CPU go.
