Figures. Wife and I killed ourselves last year taking over the rental house biz. We got all 5 rented, and are currently collecting full rents on all of them . Just last month, we paid all the back owed water bills, and rehab costs, and for the first time in 15 years of this business , we were poised to actually make money .
Just penned out our first big tax payment, and insurance payments, and there is a little bit of money in the account .
There goes that .....all to hell.
It is my job as a good human to try to keep a roof over these people for a while though . I have already thought this out in my head . I am planning on forgiving some rents for a few months if I have to . We are all gonna have to make some sacrifices here . Good thing, they are all paid off .
I have one section 8 unit, glad I diversified a little bit , that one will still pay . I have one big house where the tenant manages an eatery , so I am sure I'm not collecting there.
I have one healthcare worker, and one government worker , kind of expecting( hoping ) them to keep paying .
At some point, though, enough will be enough though.
