Elissa had a bad week last month and was placed on the transplant inactive list. She is on a combo of anti fungal drugs prior to transplant due to a old fungal infection from when she was 15 years old. The combo was causing her to go numb, Lose her vision, Cuss and scream at my wife and myself for hours. Like a bad acid trip from the movies. 3 ER visits later and being admitted to Duke hospital. All better now but a nightmare that lasted a week and scared the Hell out of us and Elissa has no idea of what happened.
She is getting on a different anti fungal combo that is more tolerated and is back at rehab daily doing a 2 hour workout. We were told she should be placed on active status next month.
We are worried Corona could shut down Rehab and possibly Transplant....Duke is not taking new patients into the program and has sent everyone home that is not on the transplant list. Elissa is still on the list...just inactive due to drug interaction.
