I’m in the same boat, considering a Submariner no date for my 50th. For the Sub, you can turn around & sell them straight away for ~$1k over MSRP because there’s a ~1 year wait for them. That said, I tried on a stainless Daytona last time we were in the Caribbean, and I was very underwhelmed. It felt light & cheap compared to the Tag Heuer Carrera daydate I was wearing that day. I put my name on the list for the Sub so it should be in right before my 50th. So I say go for it!
