He says 4800 dpi flatbed scanners didn't cut it for him; I wonder how a decent flatbed that scanned 9600dpi raw would do? Would still take a long time and huge amounts of disk though...
Commercial convertors make a complete set of printed factory manuals look pretty cheap in comparison:
