Many will bemoan the fact that there are better or more advanced chemicals, but I found these older Meguirar's products work really well on the soft single stage paint on my 911. Getting ready to do the Klasse sealant this weekend. Overall I am very happy with the results so far.
Hi...As you may know, 3M purchased Meguiar's back in 2008... 3M compounds and polishes have been the choice of many body shops for decades, but for some time they were not able to tap into the retail market...With the acquisition of Mequiar's, they were able to accomplish this...Now, both of these two products 'crossover'

Opinion only...I find, in general, that 3M's products have always been hard to beat.

Our car is also a black Cab; I use 3M PERFECT IT II ULTRA FINE with a Mikita 7" polisher...It removes all swirl-marks.... The results have always been 'Perfect'O' !
