BTW I bought the stock wheels from Paul's car long ago. They are now on this ordered new in 1979 930 PTS paint Porsche code #173, " sun burst yellow , built to the current spec in 1983 by Alan Johnson Racing, with Porsche Motorsports supplied parts including Body, suspension ( thru the chassis sway bar, ducted brakes behind the removable fog lights; 8:41 R & P ) and in addition some Andial performance enhancements ( intercooler, enrichment, boost control, ported heads, race cams, exhaust etc. ) from that time. Must have shocked many from the stock 930 crowd back then. I have AJUSA build spec 8 and 10 inch BBS but prefer the Fuchs for now. Paul's 930 will never actually be 'original' again in the purest terms, since I have the original wheels from his car, soooooo, why value it only to what it would be worth returning it to, as it will never be stock ( as originally built when new ), without the Fuchs I now have?
Some have different ideas of what original really means. To be really totally original it should still have the original air in the original tires, original fluids etc if you take it to the perfectly original level. I had one close to that definition not that long ago and it was silly trying to drive it, even very slowly, with the seemingly square tires. A well serviced, well modded and driven 930 can be a good choice especially if you plan to use it.
