Yes, people die everyday, yes people die from the flu every day, but whats different here is we have a virus that is circling the globe that so far we have been unable to stop that is putting healthy people in the ICU and into coffins. Ebola was scary and dangerous, we all watched it on the news ravaging other parts of the world, but it didn't show up in your town, did it? Yes it is more dangerous for older people and people with weakened immune systems which are also the same people who are usually the ones dying from things like the flu, but this new virus is very dangerous because lots of people spreading it have no symptoms, and many of those catching it are normal healthy people and some are dying. This is new and this is what makes this so scary, because it could happen to anyone, anywhere, anytime, unless they stay in their house, that's why states and whole countries are locking down. But this should show you how serious the governments are taking this, they are willing to crash the economy because right now the only effective way to slow this thing is to keep people apart, there is no vaccine, no medicine, no 100% preventive measures, isolation is the only effective weapon right now, and that's scary, because we can't all stay in our homes forever. Minimizing this threat puts people's lives at risk, like all the people partying at Spring Break and then flying home and hugging their Grandma, just don't.
