Hello and welcome to the forum! It doesn't seem odd to me - auctions generate a much wider audience with a ton of eyes on it at once. Since the car has such low mileage and 997s are in demand, they might think they can get top dollar for it there.

Some owners / dealers want a quick sell and go the auction route. Just my 2 cents...other members will likely chime in as well.
