Child #1 goes to a private HS. They do online school. Just like the normal school day, but log on to the school website instead of sitting in a classroom. This is a private school, so everyone has laptops and home internet access

Child #2 attends a public Jr High. They are trying to hold online classes. But that only applies to some of the classes, some of the days. It's a bit chaotic, and nowhere near the semblance of regular school.

Child #3 is in a public (charter school) elementary school. They have sent home packets of worksheets, but effectively this is going to be a lost schoolyear. Lack of computers and/or internet access at homes has made it impossible to hold online classes. But honestly, there's nothing in grade school (or even junior high) that any parent shouldn't be able to teach their kids, so I'm not concerned.

Anecdotally I have a friend who's an LA Unified teacher and very social media active. Today she said she's been requested to hold 2 classes online and do some sort of other online school programming for about 2 hours a (week)day. Normally, she's super progressive politically (never misses a chance to make a political post or statement). But apparently she's not interested and has declined to do so, challenging LAUSD to fire her. Funny how it's always been about the kids in the past...well, except for now; f 'em, they're on their own, now.
