This is the answer^^. We have a Wolf range (same model as Zeke probably) with a Viking hood that is much like the Wolf hood. Yes, the fans (there are two which can be turned on separately) are very noisy. The real solution is to have the fan moved to the exhaust end of the ducting, again, the further away the better.
