Thanks. I have checked the coil and it seems to be fine.
The green wire should be 12v when ignition on and pulsing to ground when cranking the engine which is what completes the circuit at the coil and fires it.
I seem to be getting the 4-6v at the green wire with ignition on and cranking but still it seems to be lighting a noid light in both scenarios. Very strange indeed.
