Semi-daily update

I know you're all wondering why I don't hurry up and finish already...... I think I'm actually getting close..... details on the motor are getting wrapped up.

I was initially planning to do this while the motor was in the car, but came to the realization that I was not be happy doing that (soldering the new pins on the wires is a bit of a nuisance).

I wanted to terminate the wiring in situ because I wanted to nail the harness length exactly. The engine harness plug location is a bit of a 3D puzzle so I ended up making a little locating jig out of a piece of welding rod that located off the left side motor mount:

I undid some of the harness covering I'd previously worked so hard on. I decided the PVC jacket was too stiff for the main harness. Plus I needed to be able to cut the wires one by to length.

Speaking of wires, I can't recall if I posted about this before, the infamous green wire.... I wanted lots of length so I ordered the 928 part:

It seems unreasonably expensive, for what it is. It's just a wire. Well, it's a shielded wire, but just a wire. The real value is the distributor end plug which is molded in. Knowing what I know about it now, I'd be tempted to get the URO parts version which is available for much, much less.

After a whole bunch of time......
