This next segment id like to call “the finishing touches” to this job, because ... in many respects, this car has had a lot of neglected bits and ‘finishing touches” in it’s life.

SO:

I started to clean up the door panel and prep it for the door card.

I started to think about my goals in “finishing” this project, when I saw this problem....

This cracked area is kind of common in these cars, and many people have addressed this in a number of different ways. The driver side is perfect, but this (the passenger side) looks like dookie. SO: this is the way that I made the repair:

I used one of my little part-cases-drivers and used a generous amount of JB, clamped it up and left it to sit over night.

I figure that if I have to open the hole up any after the job is ‘done’ I can hit the little green thing with my drill. So that I can disguise this repair, I will also hit it with some vinyl (black) that I have laying around from a previous job.

Then, ...... big league thank you to the host here: I received my replacement outer squeegee for the driver side, and man, that looks so much more nice.

(Look dad, no gaps!)
