Hopefully everyone reading this thread understands these are two totally separate deals:
1) The "stimulus checks" only care about 2018 (or last year's) AGI and dependency status. Claimed kids aren;t getting them. It is also why your other family members got them - regardless of their CURRENT employment status. Parents WILL get a tax credit for their kids on next year's taxes. This is 100% a US Treasury program.
2) Unemployment benefits have been seriously beefed up - effectively tripled from what I have been told. Your wife should apply if she hasn't already. Hope you're not in Florida though. Their unemployment benefit system is crashing regularly.
