I had an HP color laser in my last job that worked quite well. It didn't have the high DPI that some of the fancy inkjet photo printers have, but i think the prints looked better since they didn't have the typical inkjet streaks. The settings did allow you to crank up the toner usage for higher quality photo prints on glossy paper.

This was a reasonably pricey office model, not the cheaper consumer models you see at best buy. I can't comment on those.
