Its great to see the 928 finally getting some love and recognition, they have been underdogs for way way too long and offer really a great, effortless, comfortable and athletic driving experience. I do find the automatic cars to be a few wrungs below the manual cars. Compared to the other "big" GT cars of the time (560SEC, 635CSi/M6, XJS), they are ahead of the pack. They have also aged extremely well, similar to all Porsches of the era.
