1987 928 S4 (5ltr 32valve V8)
I’m the 4th owner.
Full clean carfax (see pics below)
Low mile, original paint, no accidents, matching numbers, stock / no mods, current paperwork + historical paperwork.
Rare colour combination of Grand-Prix white on dark blue leather interior with much sought after Cup Wheels, power heated leather seats and factory sports exhaust (sounds way better than the non-sports exhaust)
$7000+ just spent on parts and Professional service all done April 2020 including:
All new fluids... transmission flush and new fluid, coolant flush and new fluid, oil change.
All new filters... oil, air, cabin, fuel.
All new belts... cam (plus idlers) and serpentine.
Water pump was replaced. Didn’t really need it but when your doing the cam belt its a good time to do it. There was a rounded bolt head and a little support bracket was bent, new ones were installed.*
New alternator, plus new 4 year CAA battery installed and charge system checked.
All brakes were dismantled, cleaned, lubed, callipers painted, rotors turned and pads lubed + new shims. Rotors and pads had 60% life left on them so it made no sense to install new ones. Brake system was flushed and new fluid.
Suspension checked over, shocks all good.
4 new cooper performance tires installed.
Coolant was flushed, system checked and new coolant.
Dash is good but not perfect... there are a few cracks which can be fixed / filled in, I was going to have it covered in leather using one of Jagengs kits. This dash is WAY WAY better than 90% of the cars out there, especially at this price! * Steering wheel has no cracks and is in great shape, as is the gear shifter.
All switches checked, cleaned and a few replaced so all electrical (windows, sunroof, rear hatch release, power mirrors ect..) working good.
Drivers Seat side bolsters (typical wear point) and rear arm rest leather replaced. Front arm rest does have one very small hole but otherwise interior is good. Door cards, roof liner, carpets ect... all good.
Power seats serviced... tracks cleaned, lubed, wiring and switches all sorted.
Common bouncing speedo fault was fixed.
Exterior Paint cleaned, wet sanded, buffed and waxed.
Small chip in windshield professionally filled at Auto Glass Shop.
Any damaged or loose interior and exterior trim replaced / fixed such as... Door mouldings, switch bezels, rear hatch trim, coach line ect.
Engine bay detailed and intakes (Porsche logos) repainted factory colour.
Plus much more work just done.
Have receipts for all recent work / parts $7000+ plus car has a good amount of historical paperwork / service history... it’s been a very well cared for and serviced car. It’s had many thousands spent on it over the years at Porsche Halifax and Bench Auto.
Have both original keys plus ‘Red’ valet key (3 keys in total) and both original key chains fobs.
All exterior lights (glass and plastic) are in good condition and all lights work as they should.
No accidents, dents or damage.
This is a solid and very nice drivers car... an honest stock car with original paint, and some nice rare factory options. It is not a concours car or perfect by any means but a low mile, well serviced and cared for drivers car. It’s a strong 7 out of 10!
The bad:
There is one small chip on the drivers mirror
One of the rubber grommets on the passenger side windshield wiper needs replacing
The rear rubber deck spoiler has 2 small grazes (hard to see unless you look close)
The driver side door has a small blur / chip on the inside edge (hard to see unless you look close)
Cup wheels could do with a refresh to be perfect, also both rears have some curb rash.
There is your normal slow occasional drip from the trans case... I’d guess in few years it will need a new trans seal.
Both front door outer window seals are staring to crack so I’d personally change them soon / within the next year to ensure no leaks occur.
I have owned over 70+ Porsche’s and 5 928’s over the past 26 years... I feel I’ve given a fair and honest representation of this car.
Car just passed safety inspection last week with no issues so has a current certificate.
Was originally a US car and brought to Canada about 14 years ago. I have owned the car for 2.5 years, previous local owner had it 11.5 years. The main outer speedo ring is in MPH / inner speedo ring reads in KMS. Speedo shows both MPH & KMS. Mileage is 92,000 miles.
Asking $18,000 Canadian
NOTE: car is located in Nova Scotia Canada
