We rough it pretty hard when we hunt. I can't understand why the kids enjoy it so much. Though Jacobs favorite part was helping field dress the deer.

We do walk several miles each day which burns off 1/5th of the food we eat and those curds scooped right out of the vat. Nothing better! I don't know why man ever stopped hunting. OK, the one year it was -15* before factoring the wind chill and that was silly. The kid stayed in the van with dad and let the rifles sit outside on the cases to shoot at the deer they didn't see because the deer were smart enough to hunker down out of the cold.

Two years ago the boy took his .22 along and was going to bring a squirrel home to try. Well, he shot and hit the acorn out of the squirrels paws and the squirrel then started chewing him out. He was laughing too much to try again. Also have to deal with the stupid turkeys that start running and plow into you. Did I mention they are stupid. maybe not stare at the rain and drown stupid but lets land on the guy with a firearm stupid.

Always an adventure anyway.
