Sure you can do it yourself. But if you knew a few more tricks, you could get more power with little extra cost. Sounds like you are building a pretty nice engine. JE used to be a great piston maker, but since Wiseco bought them out, marginal. May want to consider another brand. Your 968 or 944S2 rods won't work well if you want RPMs and a lot of power. If you want really nice light strong rods, we have the top on the market.

What crank are you running? What bore piston?
