Censoring political discussion or killing the OT forum would absolutely be Wayne's perrogative, since he owns the site. It would also be stupid beyond belief and indicate a complete lack of understanding of what an internet community is, the vitality of this community and its
value to Pelican Parts as a business.
I could not disagree more w/ you, Mike. (Ted). There is nothing particularly special about Pelican
besides this web site. Without the web site, (forums specifically), it is just another parts house that advertises in magazines. You can disagree w/ this all you want, but this has become one of the top 100 BBS sites in the world because of the community. Do you really think that there are that many people in the world who need help adjusting their valves??
I rarely need mechanical advice, (although when I do this board is invaluable), if I only used the site for this and to order parts I would log in once a month (maybe), instead of, well, let's just say several times a day.
Pelican has become famous because of the web and this BBS, period, and it is a
community. A community w/ lots of smart people who
enjoy arguing about politics or whatever else, and Pelican has provided a lounge for us. For those who don't care for opinions on non-car subjects,
don't visit the OT forum!! It takes several clicks of the mouse for some sissy-ass whining little girl of a Pelican customer to find this
offensive material. 
Furthermore, every car-related site that I have ever visited has an OT section where members can espouse their brave views in support of jingoism and the brilliance of AM radio, you might want to warn the rest of them about the harm that this is causing their MOPAR business.
The only thing that made this forum any different is that the conservatives are a lot smarter than average, and the discussions better. Not a lot of "your momma" around here, ever visit a Honda board?
Anyways, do what you want, Wayne. It is your ball and you can take it home and end this kickball game. But in the words of my hero Dick Nixon, "You won't have me, (or anyone else), to kick around anymore."
