Interior

Slowly getting the interior together. Been working full time on the car trying to get it together. I really want to get it all done with no loose ends before shakedown and break in.

Carpeting is in, I'd rather beat my head against a wall for 2 days straight that do carpet in a 911. It's like spending a few days trying to fit square and rectangular pegs in round holes. I managed to do a pretty decent job, if I don't say so myself, but it's hard not to get stuck on every little wrinkle. They seem to become less noticeable, the more interior stuff goes in. Or maybe it's the fumes from the glue!!

I'm reminded of why I did RS door panels and RS carpet and seat delete in the Rot Rod. I was probably done the whole job in the time it took me to do one door on this car!!!

This car is a full fat, full flavor, version of the 911 recipe. Rear seats and all. Today I wrapped up the seats install and attached the leather retaining straps for the seat backs, the luggage hooks on the rear deck, rear panel install, and ended up figuring out the seat mounting. A good day, and not a whiff of glue!!

The interior work is so worth it, I was not prepared how much work it is, but also didn't realize how satisfying it would be to get it together. The Salt and Pepper Hargaarn wool carpet is a slightly lighter shade of dark and plays off the contrast of the shiny black vinyl and the basket weave on the flat side panels and dash and seats. It really does look like a million bucks!!
