Really, I can't tell the difference between my own hair cuts and a bought one. Other than it saves me $50
AND occasionally I'd come home with a really f'd haircut, so that has stopped. It's not hard to do and only takes 15 minutes. I do most with the scissors and just use the buzzer for up the back.

Same, been cutting it myself for probably 25 years. Gotten pretty good at it and like you say, no miscommunication wrt how much to take off, etc. I used to get it cut at a fantastic school for hair stylists in college and just paid attention to what the instructors were telling them, it ain’t rocket science. The back might suffer a little compared to a pro job but I don’t care.
So, no difference in my life. One of the only exceptions to my self service cuts is my youngest cousin in Mpls who went to the aforementioned school. I can’t wait to see her when it’s ok to mix w people again, probably get a haircut. She just survived a gnarly battle w Covid19, (young single parent w 2 ankle biters), I was thinking that it wouldn’t matter safety-wise to visit her because she’s already had it and healed so no transmission danger in either direction(?)
