Just did a timing belt change on our 1984 non Turbo 944. First time. Everything went as well as expected, a few hiccups but nothing major. My question is that after reassemble, tried to start car. Noticed that the battery was draining and idle rpm was around 200. If I press accelerator down, stumbles a bit - but around 2000 rpm, runs well. I believe that the old alternator belt is turning alternator sufficiently. Would that make sense? Be kind - I am a newbie!
