My reoccurring dream as a young child, which lasted into my 20s, was one where I knew there was an evil force or person behind the front door which had always been open just a crack. I would run to the door and to try to force it shut just when there was a horrible screaming roaring sound on the other side which always managed to force the door open. At the point the door was forced open I always woke up feeling terrified.
Analysis: I always resented my father as my mother’s lover and my Id always wanted her for myself. Thanks a lot Freud. Definitely not.
