The TasTee-Freeze in Warrenton, Va. was the closest fast-food / drive-in / hang-out with-in 20 miles from the late 50's to early 60's. That one had this huge 2-story double stack front glass that resembled a space ship or art deco something or other. It had inside pick-up / ordering, had sit down tables / booths in the rear area. Also had 5 or 6 drive up spaces that opposed each other under an aluminum canopy for a total of 10-12 where you ordered via small back-lit menu and a speaker like something at the drive-in movie theatre.
There was additional parking in the back lot which is where all the hot-rods would hang out. It was extremely popular until the big "M" moved in @1974 right down the them on the main drag.
it survived for a time and then the franchisee did not renew by 1979 or so.
The franchisee owned the property and building and it went then to various things like a video arcade, hot tub sales, another burger then pizza joint. By the early 1990's it was razed and a multi-use office building toke its place. A older guy, long time friend was part of the deconstruction and asked if I knew anyone that would want the front glass and metal structure. More than a few takers but no one ponied up for the transport fees.
