I was out in the garage today and found something from years ago.
The story: I was at driving at Watkins Glen when I heard this "Bang!". I quickly looked down at my instruments and
the oil pressure gauge read 5 bar. I limped into the pits and turn off the car. I can't remember for sure don't think it would start after that (it was a long time ago).
I tore down the motor when I got home and found this in the sump:
#5? rod bearing was MIA. I figure I must have been hallucinating/mistaken about seeing 5 bar on the gauge. I mentioned it to an engine builder and he said that the 911 oil pump delivers so much volume that what I saw was real.
I thought this might interest the gang. :-)
