So here is my intro! I recently finished (LOL) my V8 twin turbo Gallardo gated trans wide body Porsche Cayman.
To get here almost nothing was left un touched in some way. I didn't want to give up any compromise in the finished project like many Frankenstein type cars do. I wanted it to be fast, smooth, quiet (relatively) on the inside. Something I could take the girlfriend out to dinner in or go beat on on a road course. Goal was reliable 1000-1200rw and trackable (which means good suspension, braking, cooling, weight CG matters etc)
So this is what I came up after well over 1000 hrs of work. It was built in my garage aside some body work from Casey and from when we laid down the color (we rented a booth). Yours truly did everything except I have to hand it to Larry and Casey (neither on FB) who made the paint and bodywork happen. Would have taken my twice as long and no where near as perfect. The below is just a high level list. TONS of parts were fabricated to make all this work effectively.
Engine:
Forged LSA with LS3 Dry Sump Crank
Ported heads, custom cam
Custom build accessory drive with remote mechanical water pump
Twin Xona rotor 7864
Triple huge radiators up front
Air/Water IC with heat exchanger in back air ducted from custom made wing mount scoop.
Trans/etc:
Gallardo 6spd with DP Billet center plate
Custom drop gears (to get the gearing correct for a low revving V8)
Custom twin disk clutch
Custom 800M axles and 930 CVs
Wheel/Tires/Body
Custom kit based off of one from Precision Porsche
RS based flares
991 GT3 based front bumper (actual 991 turn signals and front lap)
19x 12 rear with 315 Cup 2s, 19x10 front with 265s
Electronics
Motec M150
Aim MXP strada
GT3 RS wheel with custom integration (boost control, front and rear cameras, launch settings, traction settings, and so forth)
All the factor stuff works in the digital dash. Blinkers, head light indicators, fuel level and so on like a factory car.
Stereo:
Fully active 3 way fronts (JL TWK processing)
10" sub between seats
Other Interior:
Tillet carbon seats
dash and most other parts wrapped in either Alcantara w/ green stitching, carbon wrap or painted gloss or flat black
Lots of sound deadening (2" of foam on firewall!)
Fuel:
Custom independently controlled triple pump setup with 1.25 gallon surge tank
edit:
Suspension:
SPL tie rods
Ohlins R&T coil overs
Stoptech big brakes (painted to match car with Porsche Logos)
